Protest in Istanbul - Drei deutsche Journalisten in der Türkei wegen vermeintlicher Spionage inhaftiert

Yesterday three german journalists were taken into custody in Amed/Diyarbakir (Turkey) on of them Björn Kietzmann. Twitter-Post: HIER They shall taken into custody in Amed/Diyarbakir where they accompanied the #Kobane protests. The Turkish police says they are spies and provocateurs. The shall held in custody in the "Tem Sube Müdürlügü" prison. That are the last information one other journalist got from one of them. Also the mobile phones with their Turkish numbers are impossible to reach. (23.00 o’clock Saturday evening 11.10.2014)

Thats why we want to meet today Sunday 12.10.2014 at 19.00 o’clock at the German Consulate General in Istanbul near to Taksim Square (İnönü Caddesi 10, 34437 Gümüşsuyu, Beyoğlu, İstanbul)
to show our protest. Journalism is not a crime!

We demand the immediate release of the journalists.

The German Embassy has to take a stand for the immediate release of the three journalists and has to public every information about it.

Not that Turkey tries everything to isolate the fighters in Kobanê completely and therefore actively participates in the crimes committed against the Kurds, they also try to make every reporting impossible. Turkey actively fights every form of solidarity with the Kurdish movement. We won’t let that happen.

Come to the  German Consulate General in Istanbul at 19.00 o’clock.
Kobanê is everywhere.
Journalism is not a crime!!
In solidarity with the journalists taken into custody.
