Get skilled up to #StopAdani

Anti biggest coalmine

This week, our Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has been in India assuring a billionaire that 'issues' with Native Title will be resolved and that $1bn in taxpayer funding will be available for Adani to build a mine that will push us over 2 degrees of warming 1. As if that wasn't enough, scientists confirmed yesterday that 2/3 of the Reef is now bleached, for the second- record breaking- year in a row 2. Each day, we're seeing the worsening effects of climate change, with record hot temperatures and extreme weather events around the world. Adani's Galilee Basin mine must be stopped.

A movement is building to stop the money and shift the politics to ensure that Australia's largest coal mine, that will cook the Reef and wreck our climate, is stopped.

There’s never been a more critical time to take a stand against fossil fuels and create meaningful change to save our future. Here at AYCC QLD, we’re looking for young people to lead the charge to #StopAdani and build renewable energy in the Sunshine state.

Join us for AYCC Queensland’s Second Training Summit weekend for an incredible weekend of skill-building, leadership training and everything you need to know to get organised to #StopAdani from building the largest coal mine in Australia. Thanks to AYCC volunteers and the #stopadani alliance, we're getting closer to stopping the money. Westpac, the only major Australian bank to have refused to rule out funding Adani's project are definitely feeling the pressure. We've got a few weeks to turn up the pressure cooker even more, to ensure Westpac makes a public announcement ruling out funding, and the Government feels the heat about using taxpayer funds for a climate-wrecking project. Now is the time to get active. Let's do this!

In hope,
Hannah and Margot, AYCC Queensland
